Thirty-One Construction Workers Rescued After L.A. Tunnel Collapse

A crane was used to lift a cage with workers that were trapped in the rubble.

Thirty-one workers had to be rescued after a tunnel collapsed in Los Angeles Wednesday night.

The crews were working on a wastewater management project in the Wilmington section of the city when an 18-foot tunnel collapsed around 8pm.

It occurred around five to six miles away from the entrance.

The workers had to climb over a large pile of loose soil after the collapse to meet rescuers. A crane was used to lift a cage with workers that were trapped in the rubble.

There were no injuries or fatalities reported in the incident.
