Horry County Schools Plans Upgrades For Athletic Facilities
Over the next few years, schools will be getting new tennis courts as well as scoreboards for gymnasiums and ballfields.
Horry County Schools announced plans for upgrades across several of its education facilities.
Over the next few years, schools will be getting new tennis courts as well as scoreboards for gymnasiums and ballfields.
There will also be upgrades to varsity baseball and softball fields for the nine schools in the district.
Each will get new seating, with the 5A schools getting 500 new seats, the 3A schools will receive 400, and Green Sea Floyds will get 300.
Upgrades will also be applied to the press boxes, irrigation and drainage systems. More batting cages will also be added if necessary.
Construction starts this year for Aynor and Conway while Carolina Forest and Green Sea Floyds will see upgrades next year. Myrtle Beach and St. James will get theirs in 2027, while Loris and Socastee construction will begin in 2028, and North Myrtle Beach in 2029.
