‘Tiger King’ Star Doc Antle Sentenced After Pleading Guilty

The 65-year-old was sentenced to one year and one day in prison with a fine of $55,000.

‘Tiger King’ star Doc Antle has been sentenced after admitting he illegally bought endangered animals to keep at his zoo in South Carolina.

The sentencing comes around two years after he pleaded guilty to trafficking exotic animals and money laundering.

Antle laundered money used in a human smuggling scheme with goals to buy animals such as lions, tigers, cheetahs, chimps, and more for his Myrtle Beach Safari.

These animals are illegal to sell because they are endangered and their high prices could encourage poachers to steal them from their natural habitats.

The 65-year-old was sentenced to one year and one day in prison with a fine of $55,000.

At the end of his sentencing, he apologized admitting he made a mistake.
