CCU Alum Melissa Jefferson-Wooden Wins The Women’s 100m

The win helped the Georgetown, South Carolina native to remain undefeated for 2025 outdoor season.

Coastal Carolina University alumni Melissa Jefferson-Wooden took the women’s 100m at the 2025 Prefontaine Classic on Saturday.

The Olympic gold & bronze medal track & field star crossed the line first in 10.75, just outside her world lead.

The win helped the Georgetown, South Carolina native to remain undefeated for 2025 outdoor season and was her first ever Wanga Diamond League win of her career.

The track star is also the fastest woman in the world for 2025 with world leading time of 10.73 which she recently ran at Philadelphia Grand Slam Track meet.

Julien Alfred suffered her first defeat of the year as she took second in 10.77.
