Starbucks is trying out a protein-packed topping for its drinks. The coffee giant is testing the new protein cold foam at five U.S. locations.
It’s part of CEO Brian Niccol’s plans for Starbucks to expand into the wellness sector and reverse sagging sales. The topping pairs a banana-flavored foam — infused with 15 grams of protein — with a sugar-free vanilla latte. The new offering comes as the coffee company is cutting 30-percent of its menu…while adding new foods and drinks and tweaking current items.
