According to the National Retail Federation, spending on Father’s Day is expected to reach 24 billion dollars this year. That’s a record, and way up from last year’s 22-point-four billion. Out of about 82-hundred survey respondents, the average person plans to drop about 2-hundred bucks.

All that dough will go to things like greeting cards, clothing, a special outing and gift cards. Less than half of the respondents are buying for fathers or stepfathers, though. Just over half are buying for husbands, sons, brothers, friends or grandfathers.
