Several people were injured during an attack at an Oregon homeless shelter on Sunday.

Around 7:15pm, a man walked into the lobby of the Union Gospel Mission in Salem armed with an eight-inch knife. He was reportedly talking to people in the lobby when he allegedly pulled out the weapon and stabbed several victims.

Other people in the vicinity were injured when they attempted to intervene. The man then fled the building and stabbed others who were nearby, sitting outside.

Eleven victims, including two shelter staff members, were taken to a hospital. A 12th victim was later found. All of those injured were men between ages 26 and 57.

42-year-old Tony Williams was arrested. However, police have not revealed a specified motive, but said it did not seem targeted at people who are homeless.
