YMCA And Georgetown Co. Partner For Free Swim Lessons Program

The 'Safety Around Water' program involves a mobile pool that will travel to rural areas of the county to give free swim lessons to young children.

Georgetown County Parks and Recreation is teaming up with the YMCA of Coastal Carolina for a new initiative.

The ‘Safety Around Water’ program involves a mobile pool that will travel to rural areas of the county to give free swim lessons to young children.

Registration is free for kids ages 5-15 and will be open through Friday.

Children ages 5-9 can register for morning sessions from 9:30-10:30am or 10:30am-noon.

Kids ages 10-15 will be able to attend afternoon sessions from 1-2:30pm or 2:30-4pm.

From June 2-5, as well as June 9-12, the pool will be set up at the Andrews Regional Recreation Center.

Then from June 16-19 and June 23-26, it will be placed at the Northwest Regional Recreation Center.
