Dozens Injured During Liverpool Football Club Parade Celebration

A celebration in Liverpool turned tragic after a vehicle crashed into a crowd of people.
Hundreds of thousands had gathered at a parade celebrating the Liverpool Football Club winning the English Premier League Soccer Title.
A driver collided with several pedestrians just after 6pm. Three adults and one child were pulled from under the suspected vehicle. 27 victims were transported to a hospital, including two that remain in critical condition. 20 people were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The suspect has been identified as a 53-year-old British man from the Liverpool area. He has been taken into custody. The incident is not being treated as terrorism and no other suspects are being sought at this time.
The Liverpool Football Club took to social media to say “our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been affected by this serious incident.”
