Several Arrested After Police Pursuit Involving Gunfire Ends In Crash
Police attempted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle in the area of S. Ocean Boulevard and 17th and 18 Avenue.
A police pursuit in Myrtle Beach ended in a crash and led to several arrests.
At around 8:15am Thursday, police attempted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle in the area of S. Ocean Boulevard and 17th and 18 Avenue. All four occupants were reportedly wearing masks.
The driver failed to stop prompting police to pursue. The vehicle was witnessed driving the wrong way in traffic at “excessive speeds” and shots were fired at officers.
The chase ended when the suspect car crashed in the area of Highway 17 Bypass and 67th Avenue North. It was a two-vehicle crash but no injuries were reported.
All four people were detained but two were later released. However, 17-year-old Riley Pegram and 20-year-old Omarion Glass remain behind bars.
Both are facing multiple charges including three counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm during a violent crime and more.
