Horry Co. Council Approves Final Reading Of MB Pelicans Lease
Council members unanimously approved the lease agreement between the city of Myrtle Beach and Horry County as landlords with the team.
The Horry County Council approved a third and final reading of a lease proposal for the Pelicans.
Council members unanimously approved the lease agreement between the city of Myrtle Beach and Horry County as landlords with the team.
It also approved the first reading of an ordinance “approving and authorizing the county administrator to engage in negotiations and execute a deed to convey the county’s interest in property located on 21st Avenue North in the city of Myrtle Beach,” as well as a resolution in support of the Pelicans and transferring ownership of the park to the city.
Myrtle Beach would continue to own 70% of the ballpark and Horry County 30%. County leaders said even though both the city and county passed their own version of a lease, conversations behind the scenes need to continue before the deadline.
