Biden’s diagnosis also included metastasis to the bone. It comes after a small nodule was discovered during a routine physical exam leading to further examination.
Possible options for the former president include hormone therapy, or androgen deprivation therapy, which can reduce levels of male hormones that can fuel prostate cancer growth.
Prostate cancer has a five-year relative survival rate. That means the percentage of people alive five years after diagnosis, is around 98%.
