One Year Old Child Dies After Drowning In Florence Co. Pool

Shortly after 9pm on Saturday, family members reported they were saying goodbye to guests when the child wandered off.

One child is dead after drowning in a pool in Florence County.

Shortly after 9pm on Saturday, family members reported they were saying goodbye to guests when the child, 23-month old Journee Davis, wandered off.

She was found in an above-ground pool at her home near Elk Lane in Lake City. She was transported to an emergency room where she was pronounced dead.

Her body is scheduled for an autopsy Thursday morning at MUSC.
