Three Officers Placed On Leave After Officer Involved Shooting
The suspect, 18-year-old Jerrius Davis of Bennettsville died as a result of the shooting.
The Myrtle Beach Police Department has released more information in regards to the fatal shooting that unfolded on Saturday.
Just before midnight officers witnessed someone opening fire near the 900 block of N. Ocean Boulevard.
The incident prompted an officer to fire their weapon in response to the threat.
The suspect, 18-year-old Jerrius Davis of Bennettsville died as a result of the shooting.
Eleven people were also injured but their current conditions are unknown.
Three officers have now been placed on paid administrative leave in connection to the fatal officer involved shooting per department policy.
City Mayor Brenda Bethune has commented on the situation saying this incident could have unfolded in any town. She also praised the flushing tactic claiming that it assisted the officers in responding quickly.
