Former Socastee Football Star Signed With The Panthers

Hunter Renfrow caught the game-winning touchdown pass for the Tigers in the 2017 National Championship Game against Alabama.

A local football star has signed on with the Carolina Panthers.

Hunter Renfrow is a Myrtle Beach native and a Socastee High graduate who played for Clemson.

He caught the game-winning touchdown pass for the Tigers in the 2017 National Championship Game against Alabama.

He also had a pair of touchdown receptions in the 2016 title game loss to the Crimson Tide, and was part of the 2018 title team. He won the burlsworth trophy that year.

In five seasons, he has 269 catches from 2,884 yards and 17 touchdowns.

On Sunday, Renfrow joined the Panthers along with first-round picks, Xavier Legette and Tetairoa McMillan.
