Russia Ballistic Missile Strikes Civilian Ukraine City
Two children were among those confirmed killed, while 117 others were injured, including 15 children.
A Russian ballistic missile strike on the northeaster Ukrainian city of Sumy killed at least 34 people Sunday.
Two missiles struck the center of the city that is known to be civilian populated. Two children were among those confirmed killed, while 117 others were injured, including 15 children. The strike hit multiple buildings, including residential ones.
The head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office said the missiles used cluster munitions, which spray small sub-munitions over the targeted area. He said Russians use to kill as many civilians as possible.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the “terrible strike” hit “an ordinary city street, ordinary life: houses, educational institutions, cars on the street.” He added that “a tough reaction from the world is needed.”
The strike comes at a time that President Trump is working to conduct peace-talks in hopes to reach a deal that would end the war.
