Man Found Suffering A Gunshot Wound Prompts Investigation

An investigation is underway after a shooting incident unfolded in Scotland County.

Thursday afternoon, several gunshots were heard in the area of Washington Park in Laurinburg.

Police responded to the area of Grant Street and Alexander Avenue.

A 21-year-old man was witnessed fleeing from the shooter toward Stewartsville Road when officers found him.

He was suffering from a gunshot wound and taken to a hospital where he was then airlifted to a different medical facility to be treated. His current condition is unknown at this time.
