White House Concludes Investigation Into Group Chat Error
National Secretary Adviser Mike Waltz took responsibility for accidentally adding the journalist to the chat
The White House announced that is has concluded its review into the Yemen group chat incident.
Journalist and The Atlantic Editor-in-Chief, Jeffrey Goldberg was included in a group chat with top officials that discussed military strikes in Yemen. He learned about the strikes just a couple of hours before they were carried out on March 15.
National Secretary Adviser Mike Waltz took responsibility for accidentally adding the journalist to the chat that was sent through the ‘Signal’ app.
A bipartisan group viewed the incident as an apparent breach of U.S. national security and an investigation was opened.
Many called for those responsible to step down from their high positions. However, the White House found it was an accident and actions against those involved will not be taken.
