President Trump Signs Order Regarding Ticket Scalping
The order calls on the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice to "rigorously enforce" existing laws.
President Trump signed an executive order regarding ticket sellers and the prices they are allowed to charge.
The leader was joined by Kid Rock in the Oval Office to sign the order that calls on the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice to “rigorously enforce” existing laws.
It is unclear what immediate effect the executive order may have on the ticketing industry. The order appears to be aimed at cracking down on bots more than setting limits on prices. Kid Rock said he would like to see laws implemented that do put a cap on what resellers can charge.
The White House described the order as an action that tasks the agencies with enforcing laws on the books, in collaboration with state attorneys general that have power over consumer protection, and others who have power to crack down on the issue. It’s goal is to prevent entertainers and fans from becoming victims of abusive and often times illegal practices.
