Table Rock Fire Spreads Over Border Burning In South And North Carolina

A massive wildfire burning for over a week in South Carolina has now jumped the border into North Carolina.
The Table Rock Fire ignited on March 21 in the Table Rock State Park in Pickens County of South Carolina.
As of Sunday it has scorched over 11,400 acres in both South and North Carolina, burning more than 500 acres Saturday night alone. As the fire spread across the border, firefighters upped containment from 0% to 9%.
Pickens County Sheriff Tommy Blankenship reported that investigators suspect the Table Rock Fire was started by four teenagers. He alleged that the negligent behavior of the teens caused the fire but declined to elaborate. Blankenship added they will be held accountable for their actions.
The flames are now the highest-priority fire in the U.S. as fire crews responded from multiple states to assist in battling the blaze.
