S.C. Forestry Commission Lifts Burn Ban For 41 Counties Excluding Five
The five counties whose bans are still being enforced include Horry, Greenville, Oconee, Spartanburg, and Pickens.
The South Carolina Forestry Commission lifted burn bans across 41 counties with five remaining in place.
The five counties whose bans are still being enforced include Horry, Greenville, Oconee, Spartanburg, and Pickens. The bans will remain until further notice.
Burning in Horry County is not allowed as the forestry commission resources continue to focus their efforts on cleaning up and strengthening fire-breaks around the Covington Drive Fire, which is now 85% contained.
The lifted ban in the other 41 counties came due to the improvement of low relative humidity and gusty winds. These conditions are expected to ease significantly across the state over the next week.
