Horry Co. Police Encounter Unusual Kangaroo Capture

The animal named JJ belongs to Justin and Lindsey Richardson of 'After Hours Farm' in Aynor.

Horry County police were called to capture an unusual stray animal over the weekend.

On Saturday, officials responded to a kangaroo on the loose in an effort to help return it to it’s home.

The animal named JJ belongs to Justin and Lindsey Richardson of ‘After Hours Farm’ in Aynor.

The animal is native to Australia and New Guinea, but kangaroos aren’t uncommon at American zoos, farms and other attractions.

South Carolina is among three states that don’t require permitting for ownership.

JJ is now back home safe in his enclosure.
