Mother And 2-Year-Old Child Injured In Scotland Co. Shooting
The 2-year-old was also treated and has since been listed as stable.
Three people have been arrested in connection to a double shooting in Scotland County.
Just before 1am on Sunday, police responded to the 400 block of Hood Drive in Laurinburg. Upon arrival, a 23-year-old mother and a 2-year-old child were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
The mother was taken to a hospital where she was treated and released. The 2-year-old was also treated and has since been listed as stable.
The victims were reportedly sitting in a vehicle when another vehicle approached and the passenger fired several shots.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested for two counts of attempted murder, three counts of discharging a weapon into occupied property, discharging a firearm in city limits and possession of a firearm by a minor.
19-year-old Jadan Avery is facing several of the same charges as the teen.
Meanwhile, 24-year-old Angela Pegues was arrested and charged with accessory before and after the fact of attempted murder.
An investigation is still underway.
