Woman Accused Of Igniting Carolina Forest Wildfire Is Out On Bond
The suspect allegedly started a fire to burn debris in a backyard fire pit close to a tree line in the Covington Lakes Community.
The woman arrested in connection to the Carolina Forest Wildfire has posted bond.
40-year-old Alexandra Bialousow was arrested on Thursday for negligently allowing a fire to spread to lands of another and regulation of fires on certain lands chapter violation charges. She posted a $15,000 bond Friday.
Bialousow allegedly started a fire to burn debris in a backyard fire pit close to a tree line in the Covington Lakes Community. She reportedly did not have a proper water source available or any tools to help control the fire.
The lack of resources allowed the flames to spread sparking the blaze that remains at 2,059 acres and 55% contained. The woman now faces up to 60 days in prison and a $400 fine if convicted.
Horry County was under a burn ban the day the fire ignited and remains the only county in S.C. still under the ban.
