Man Arrested In Connection To Florence Hotel Robbery And Auto Theft

33-year-old Seyquan Johnson forced himself into the victim's room at the Colonial Inn on S. Irby Street.

One man has been arrested in connection to a robbery at a Florence hotel.

Just after midnight Thursday, 33-year-old Seyquan Johnson forced himself into the victim’s room at the Colonial Inn on S. Irby Street.

He assaulted and knocked the victim unconscious before stealing their driver’s license, debit cards, a watch and a coat.

Johnson then went to the parking lot where a second victim was sitting in their car. That victim grabbed his gun as Johnson was walking toward him before he was pulled out of the car.

During the commotion, the victim fired a shot at Johnson before he took the victim’s car and fled the scene.

Police were called and later attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, but Johnson sped off leading to a short pursuit that ended when he drove the car into a ditch.

Johnson was detained and charged with burglary, carjacking, kidnapping, driving under suspension, failure to stop for blue light, and giving false information to law enforcement.
