Suspect Arrested/Two Still Wanted In Connection To Assault And Robbery

During the commotion a 90-year-old man was assaulted and is still recovering.

One suspect has been arrested as police search for two more in connection to an assault and robbery.

On February 21, Billy Cox’s Grocery on Highway 41 in Lumberton was robbed. During the commotion a 90-year-old man was assaulted and is still recovering.

24-year-old Cionta Owens was arrested on Monday and has been charged with felony conspiracy, robbery with a dangerous weapon, second degree kidnapping and misdemeanor assault. He is being held at the Sumter County Detention Center without bond.

Owens has waived his extradition to be brought back to N.C. for his first court appearance.

In addition, 20-year-old Legend Reed and 22-year-old Jeremy Sealey are both wanted on the same charges.

An investigation is still underway.
