The basketball star surpassed the goal with a 3-pointer early in the first quarter of the game between the LA Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans.
The 40-year-old finished with 34 points that contributed to the Lakers’ 136-115 victory.
The points also pushed James’ regular season-record to 41,871. That added to his 8,162 points, which made him the leading scorer in postseason history.
The 50,000 mark was reached during his 22nd season. That tied him with Vince Carter for the most played in NBA history.
