14-Year-Old Hurt During Police Pursuit

A police chase in Florence County resulted in the hospitalization of a 14-year-old.
Around 4am Monday, Olanta Police Chief Robert Barfield attempted to pull over a vehicle for speeding 55 in a 35 mph zone with a missing headlight.
The driver failed to stop and continued speeding down Jones Street.
The officer as well as other deputies pursued the car in a chase that ended in a crash on Woodsbury Road at Jones Road.
The 14-year-old was the driver of the suspected vehicle that wrecked. He remains in the hospital for his injuries, but his current condition is unclear at this time.
