Icy Conditions Cause Crash Involving An Ambulance
The ambulance was returning to base and was not responding to a call at the time of the crash.
Icy conditions led to a crash in Robeson County Wednesday night.
The accident occurred around 10pm along U.S. 74 Business on the overpass bridge that crosses over I-74 outside of Maxton.
Ice on the bridge caused a car to rear-end an ambulance.
The crew inside were taken to a hospital but each member is expected to be okay.
No one inside the car was seriously injured either.
The ambulance was returning to base and was not responding to a call at the time of the crash.
The Pembroke Rescue Squad is using the incident to remind drivers to exercise caution while driving in icy conditions and to always be alert around emergency vehicles.
