Florence Doctor Sentenced For Unlawfully Distributing Oxycodone
David Rodriguez Jr. was sentenced to nearly five years in prison after which he will be supervised for three years.
A Florence doctor has been sentenced after pleading guilty to unlawfully distributing oxycodone outside of medical practices.
50-year-old David Rodriguez Jr. was accused of providing 15 prescriptions of oxycodone over an eight month period.
The patient allegedly felt pressured to engage in sexual activity with Rodriguez in exchange for the pills.
He reportedly distributed over 600 pills to the patient over the said time-line.
The patient was rejected by the pharmacy because they were already taking suboxone.
Rodriguez was sentenced to nearly five years in prison after which he will be supervised for three years.
He is not eligible for parole in the federal system.
