Man Arrested After Standoff Situation In Downtown Loris

Horry County Police Special Operations were called to the scene due to the potential threat to neighbors and the public.

A standoff took place in the downtown Loris area Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called to the 2000 block of Main Street on reports of domestic violence.

When officials arrived, they attempted to arrest Samuel Long.

Before they could, the suspect pulled out a firearm and pointed it at his head. Officers then began negotiating with him.

Horry County Police Special Operations were called to the scene due to the potential threat to neighbors and the public.

Authorities were eventually able to get Long into custody without incident.

He faces charges including first-degree criminal domestic violence, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and a felon in possession of a firearm.

No one was injured during the incident.
