Uber Introduces New Feature For Travelers With Disabilities
Owners of a service animal can now go into their settings on the uber app and fill out an eligibility form.
Uber introduced a new feature designed to make traveling easier for people with disabilities.
The ride app is now allowing customers to self-identify as owners of service animals.
The feature aims to give drivers more of a heads up of when to expect a furry companion.
Owners of a service animal can now go into their settings on the uber app and fill out an eligibility form and select the option that will identify them as someone who will ride with the assistance pet.
They can also choose whether to notify drivers, though that’s not required.
By law, drivers cannot discriminate against customers with service animals. However, with the new warning, a driver can now prepare for the circumstances.
