Trump Pauses Tariffs Against Mexico And Canada
A trade war would end two of the United States' most critical trading partnerships.
President Trump agreed to a 30-day pause on his tariff threats against Mexico and Canada.
The pause allows a cool-down period after an intense few days. North America is feared to be on the brink of a trade war.
The threat risks crushing economic growth and causing prices to soar. It would also end two of the United States’ most critical trading partnerships.
Trump took to social media to say the pause will provide an opportunity to see if a final economic deal can be structured by working together.
Though the trade war now seems less likely, that doesn’t mean the disagreements over Trump’s tariff threats has ended.
