Francis Marion University Students To Assist People This Tax Season

The college's tax accounting students are offering free tax preparation through the Internal Revenue Service's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.

Francis Marion University is wanting to assist people this tax season.

The college’s tax accounting students are offering free tax preparation through the Internal Revenue Service’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.

The service will be available every Wednesday from 5-9pm.

You must make an appointment and 13 slots will be open every hour.

Taxpayers who participate must bring a photo ID and a list of their spouse and all dependents appearing on their tax returns.

They should also bring their W2s and 1099 forms.

The program began Wednesday and will run through April 9.
