Trump Administration Offers Buyouts To Millions Of Federal Employees

Employees excluded from the offer include postal workers, military members, immigration officials and certain national security roles.

The Trump administration is offering buyouts to millions of federal employees.

Tuesday night, an email was sent to federal workers and was posted to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management website.

The email says those who choose to resign before February 6 will be exempt from in-person work requirements until September 30.

During that time, the employees will still receive pay and benefits despite their resignation.

The proposal is being offered to “make sure that all federal workers are on board with the new administration’s plan to have federal employees in office and adhering to higher standards.”

The White House expects up to 10% of federal employees will take the offer.

However, employees excluded from the offer include postal workers, military members, immigration officials and certain national security roles.
