Trump Signs Order Regarding Transgender U.S. Military Troops
In the order, Trump claims service by troops who identify as a gender other than their biological one “conflicts with a soldier’s commitment.
President Trump signed an executive order regarding those who serve in the U.S. military.
The order directs Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to revise the Pentagon’s policy on transgender troops. It is expected to put in motion a future ban on their military service.
In the order, Trump claims service by troops who identify as a gender other than their biological one “conflicts with a soldier’s commitment to an honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle, even in one’s personal life” and is harmful to military readiness, requiring a revised policy to address the matter.
Hegseth has been directed to come up with how that would be implemented in policy.
In addition, Trump also ordered troops to be reinstated who had left voluntarily or thrown out for refusing COVID-19 vaccines.
