Price Of Eggs Expected To Remain High And Continue To Increase

The prices are estimated to increase around 20% this year, compared to nearly 2.2% for food prices in general.

The price of eggs in the U.S. is at an all time high and continues to climb.

Due to the ongoing bird flu outbreak and inflation, egg prices sat at $4.15 in December, that was up from $3.65 in November.

The unusually high prices come after the outbreak killed about 17.2 million egg-laying hens in those two months alone. That’s nearly half of all birds killed by the virus last year.

The prices are estimated to increase around 20% this year, compared to nearly 2.2% for food prices in general.

As long as the avian flu continues to spread, the price of eggs will remain high.

There are outbreaks in California, Indiana, Missouri, North Carolina and Ohio.
