Fire rescue crews were called to a residence at 504 Wilson Street

A fire in Florence County claimed the life of one person.

Around 5:30pm on Friday, fire rescue crews were called to a residence at 504 Wilson Street after reports of smoke coming from the front of the home.

The fire was under control within five minutes of the crews arrival.

The cause of the fire is unclear.

The identity of the person who died is unknown.

The incident is under investigation.
