Biden Announces $770 One-Time Payments For California Fire Victims

There is 14% containment of the wildfires in Pacific Palisades, 33% containment in Pasadena, and 100% containment in Ventura.

President Biden announced one-time payments for victims of the California wildfires as part of efforts to provide federal support.

Biden said they are not waiting for the fires to burn out to start assisting the victims. He added people impacted by these fires are going to receive a payment of $770.

The critical needs assistance program was activated last week. Around 6,000 survivors have already registered for it. $5.1 million has already been handed out to those who applied.

There is 14% containment of the wildfires in Pacific Palisades, 33% containment in Pasadena, and 100% containment in Ventura.

Last week, the federal government announced it will cover 100% of the costs of California’s efforts to fight the wildfires for 180 days.
