Barefoot Swing Bridge To Be One Lane During Maintenance Work

Temporary traffic control signs will be set up while crews work on annual maintenance as well as replacing the sidewalk.

Drivers who take a route that includes the Barefoot Swing Bridge will experience a disturbance in traffic for a while.

Starting January 13, traffic on the North Myrtle Beach bridge will be reduced to one lane for nearly two months.

Temporary traffic control signs will be set up while crews work on annual maintenance as well as replacing the sidewalk.

The work is expected to take around 60 days.

Drivers are urged to allow for extra travel time and to consider alternate routes if possible.

The city apologized for any inconvenience the necessary work may cause.
