Woman Dies After Gunman Opened Fire Inside Lumberton Walmart

Just before 4pm on Friday, 42-year-old Brandy Olson was shot and killed.

A woman was shot and killed after an incident took place at a Walmart in Lumberton.

Just before 4pm on Friday, 42-year-old Brandy Olson was standing in line at the Woodforest Bank Branch inside the Walmart located on Fayetteville Road when a gunman opened fire.

Olson was struck and transported to a hospital where she later died.

Investigators said the incident appears to be isolated and the shooter was targeting two people they knew.

No other injuries were reported and the suspect fled the scene.

Several agencies are now investigating the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact lumberton authorities.
