Shooting At A Laurinburg Business Left One Victim Dead

33-year-old William Breeden the third reportedly exited his room at the inn with intentions of going to the store.

A shooting in Scotland County resulted in the death of one man.

The incident occurred around 6:45pm on Saturday at the Clinton Inn along U.S. 401 South in Laurinburg.

33-year-old William Breeden the third reportedly exited his room at the inn with intentions of going to the store. His family said after he exited the room, they heard gunshots.

Breeden then returned to the room suffering from injuries after being shot. He was transported to a hospital where he later died.

18-year-old Jeremiah Locklear has since been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, common law robbery, discharging a firearm in city limits, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The suspect is being held without bond at the Scotland County Jail.
