Experts say the best time to travel is during “dead weeks,” which is a period time when travel is less busy and sometimes cheaper. These weeks are often found sandwiched between or just after peak travel times. The best times next year are: the week after New Year’s Day leading up to Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the weeks between MLK Day and President’s Day, the week after Labor Day, and the two weeks following Thanksgiving up to the middle of December.
