Parking Lot Altercation Results In The Death Of One Man

The 17-year-old then got into a burgundy Chevrolet pickup truck and intentionally struck the victim before fleeing the scene.

An altercation unfolded in a parking lot of a Lumberton store that left one person dead.

The incident happened just before 11:30pm on Friday at Atkinson’s Cigarette Land along West 5th Street.

44-year-old Billy Huggins and a 17-year-old male were involved in the altercation.

The 17-year-old then got into a burgundy Chevrolet pickup truck and intentionally struck Huggins before fleeing the scene.

The victim died from injuries he sustained after being run over.

The 17-year-old is facing a first-degree murder charge and remains at large.
