Carolina Forest Neighborhood Shooting Led To Lockdowns And Brief Search

Shortly after 5pm, officials announced the shooting appeared to be isolated and those directly involved were located.

A shooting that took place in a Carolina Forest neighborhood is now under investigation.

Just after 4pm Thursday, Horry County police were called to the neighborhood off of Hidden Creek Lane in the Southgate neighborhood.

Officers searched for an individual believed to be involved in the shooting.

Community members were advised to stay indoors as the suspect was considered armed and dangerous.

Carolina Forest Elementary School and Creative Beginnings were both placed on brief lockdowns due to the proximity to the shooting.
