Man Arrested After Pointing A Firearm At Children
The victim said he was army crawling across Blanchard's yard when he came out with a black handgun.
One man is facing charges after an incident unfolded in Myrtle Beach.
64-year-old James Blanchard was arrested following an altercation that occurred on Saturday in a local neighborhood.
The warrant states a victim and a witness were playing hiding seek around the neighborhood.
The victim said he was army crawling across Blanchard’s yard when he came out with a black handgun, pointed it directly at the victim and demanded him to “get on your belly and do not move.”
A witness said he went over to Blanchard and was able to control the situation.
Blanchard admitted he pointed the firearm at both victims. He said he received calls from his neighbors regarding the kids running around and decided to “take it upon himself to deal with it.”
Blanchard was charged with two counts of pointing and presenting a firearm at a person. He has since been released on a $10,000 bond.
