Trump Says GOP Will Push To Ditch Daylight Saving Time

It is unclear if Trump will decide to make Daylight Saving Time or Standard Time permanent.

Donald Trump said Republicans will push to ditch Daylight Saving Time.

For years, lawmakers have introduced bills to make Daylight Saving Time permanent, but the legislation has struggled to make it through both chambers of Congress.

The president-elect referred to the time change as “inconvenient” and “costly.”

Trump said, “The Republican party will use its best efforts to eliminate Daylight Saving Time, which has a small but strong constituency, but shouldn’t.”

However, it is unclear if Trump will decide to make Daylight Saving Time or Standard Time permanent.
