Sports dominated Google’s global “year in search” list for this year.
Six of the top 10 trending searches were sporting events.
The top three were for soccer tournaments including the ‘Copa America,’ the ‘UEFA European Championship’ and the ‘ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.’
They were followed by two cricket events and the Paris Olympics ranked at number nine.
Outside of sports, three of the top searches are people.
Liam Payne was number five after his recent death, trailed by President-elect Donald Trump and the Princess of Whales, Catherine, was number 10.
The iPhone 16 ranked as the eighth most trending search.
