Mexico Will Ask Trump To Deport Immigrants Directly To Home Countries

Mexico’s president plans to make requests to President-elect Donald Trump regarding deportation.
Mexico is not obligated to accept non-Mexican migrants, but it has agreed to do so in the past. However, President Claudia Sheinbaum will ask Trump to deport non-Mexican migrants directly to their home countries, rather than taking them to the Mexican border.
The request comes as Mexican officials are preparing for Trump to follow through on his pledge to carry out large-scale deportations of migrants who lack the proper documents when he takes office on January 20.
