7.0 Magnitude Earthquake Shook Parts Of Northern California
It was the most powerful to hit California since a magnitude 7.1 quake hit Ridgecrest in 2019.
A 7.0 magnitude earthquake shook a large area of Northern California Thursday.
The quake struck at 10:44am west of Ferndale, around 130 miles from the Oregon border. It was felt as far south as San Francisco which is around 270 miles away.
It was followed by multiple aftershocks. The quake prompted a brief tsunami warning for 5.3 million people along the West Coast.
There were no immediate reports of major damage or injuries from the quake.
It was the most powerful to hit California since a magnitude 7.1 quake hit Ridgecrest in 2019.
